Black Insitu Testing is proud to offer pressuremeter testing services in collaboration with Cambridge Insitu. This is the first time in Australia this highly specialised equipment will be available locally.
Cambridge Insitu have over 50 years of experience conducting pressuremeter testing and are renowned in the industry. They specialise in providing pressuremeter testing that directly measures down-hole pressure and radial displacement, which is far more accurate for determining geotechnical soil/rock parameters than pressuremeter tests that measure a change in volume and pressure.
There are three types of Cambridge Insitu pressuremeter. All three are all based on the same concept, as they have capacity to directly measure pressure and displacement during a test. The pressuremeter is positioned in a borehole, having either been inserted into a pre-bored ‘pocket’, pushed in, or drilled in as self-bored. The choice of which depends on the material and the requirements of the test.
